According to various reports it is understood that Gardaí Tralee Co Kerry are currently negotiating with a woman who has held up a shop in the town armed with a butcher knife.
It is understood the woman who is unidentified apparently entered a Halal shop on Castle Street and threatened staff working in the store. Early reports suggest the woman is currently alone in the shop. It is also believed that there are currently no hostages being held at the present time.
Gardaí say Lower Castle Street has been officially closed so they can attend to the incident.
