Gardai are reportedly investigating an incident that took place during a kite and balloon festival in Sandycove, Dublin, on July 30.
It is alleged that a three year old girl was led away towards a car by a young couple, under the promise of sweets and a balloon ride.

A man, the child’s grandfather, spotted them and ran after the couple, who appeared shocked to be approached. The man said he could see they were heading towards a car that was positioned near an exit, for a potentially quick getaway.
The little girl, who is three years of age, was holding the hand of the young woman who lured here away.
The incident came to nothing in the end, but there are very sinister overtones to it.
Gardai are said to be investigating, and as always they are advising anyone to report all suspicious behaviour at once.
