Gardai have issued a renewed warning for AIB customers to be vigilant as fraudsters are on the prowl again.
Many customers have reported receiving suspicious emails or text messages purporting to come from the bank, asking to click on a link to ‘review’ or ‘block’ a fraudulent transaction.
The customer is then requested to enter banking details, which would enable the fraudsters to steal funds.
This type of scam is more or less ongoing all the time, so customers are being asked to remain aware of it.
