Gardai issue warning to parents after attempted abduction of two young children

Gardai have launched an investigation after a suspicious approach to children in Co. Meath this week.

The incident happened near the village of Nobber on Wednesday April 9.

It is understood that a man, described as old, with long white beard and driving in a blue vintage car, stopped beside two children and ‘tried to abduct them.’ The children ran away and the man drove off.

The incident was later posted on Facebook by the aunt of one of the children involved.

A member of An Gardai spoke to The Liberal and said that an investigation is ongoing. They’ve advised parents in the area to be extra careful with their children but for the wider community, and indeed countrywide, that parents be very vigilant about where their children and playing and who they’re with.
