Gardaí in Co Waterford have arrested a man aged in his 20s in connection with the death of a man in Portlaw.
It is understood the arrest comes after a man aged in his 50s was found seriously injured at council house on the Coolfin estate at approximately 2.45pm this afternoon.
Gardaí say the man was quickly rushed to University Hospital Waterford, but he was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
They added that a man has been arrested in connection with the incident and he is currently being detained at Tramore Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
