Gardai have launched an investigation after a woman in her 30s was left in a critical condition after being struck by a van.
The incident happened on the Knock Road in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, on Thursday evening.
It is understood that the woman was out walking at the time of the collision. The driver of the van was not injured.
