Gardai have launched an investigation after a woman in her 70s was allegedly assaulted during a burglary in Co. Cork over the weekend.
The incident happened after the woman disturbed the burglars at her home in Lowertown South, Schull.
The woman had to be taken to hospital for treatment.
No arrests have been made.
