Gardaí in Dublin have launched an investigation after a man aged in his 50s suffered serious head injuries following an alleged assault in Dublin.
It is understood the investigation comes after the man was found with serious injuries on Kilmore Road in Coolock, at approximately 12am.
Gardaí say the man was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment however it is believed that his injuries are not life-threatening.
They added that a man aged in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently being detained at Coolock Garda Station.
