Gardai have launched an investigation following a serious assault in an Irish county over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The incident happened in Westport, Co. Mayo, on Sunday evening.
A man in his 30s was rushed to hospital following an altercation in the town. His injuries are believed to be serious but non life-threatening.
