Gardai have launched an investigation following an aggravated burglary in the Dublin area.
The incident happened at a property in the Kilbarron Road, Coolock, on Tuesday evening.
A male in his 20s sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.
A male in his 50s has been arrested in connection with this incident.
