Gardai have launched an investigation following several incidents of thieves pretending to be gardai to gain access to elderly people’s homes.
It is understood that two such incidents were reported on Tuesday, one in Co. Meath and a second one in Co. Cavan, with one lone male wearing a stab vest and carrying a fake Gardai ID involved in both.
A sum of money was taken in one of the incidents.
