Gardai have launched an investigation following the death of a man inside a doctor’s surgery in the south of the country.
The incident, which involved a firearm, happened at the Primary Healthcare Centre at Gooldshill in Mallow, Co. Cork, on Tuesday evening.
The victim, a male in his 50s, is understood to have had an appointment at the facility.
Armed gardai were en route to the location when the firearm was discharged. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
