Gardai have launched an investigation following the death of an elderly pedestrian in an Irish county.
The incident happened in New Ross, Co. Wexford, on Tuesday. It is understood that the deceased, a man in his 80s, was struck by a car in the Knockavilla area.
The man was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
