It something that sounds like a scene from from a comedy movie, in many people’s eyes, gardai are wasting valuable money and time on looking for a person who left a mandatory quarantined hotel on Saturday.
It’s understood that the person is not armed or dangerous.
Two people who absconded from mandatory quarantine are now back at the designated hotel, but one person is still at large.
It is understood that there were two separate incidents. In the first one, a person left alone, but was quickly found and returned to the facility.
In the second incident, two people left together. One of them returned voluntarily, but the other person remains missing.
Only now, over a year on from the start of the pandemic, is Ireland enforcing a mandatory quarantine for inbound travelers, after tens of thousands of people entered the country over the past 12 months.
