Gardai are searching for a suspect who fled empty handed after an unsuccessful attempt to hold up a Post Office in Cork.
A man wearing a hood and a scarf, and wielding a baseball bat, was seen trying to enter the Post Office building in Grenagh, Cork, at about 11am today. The Postmaster confronted him and the would-be raider fled, dropping a few items during his hasty retreat.
Gardai are forensically examining these items and reviewing CCTV footage in a bid to identify the failed robber.
