GardaĆ have issued a fresh CCTV image and renewed their appeal for public assistance in locating missing 56-yr-old Michael Gaine in Co Kerry, reports RTE.

Mr. Gaine was last spotted in Kenmare town just before 10 a.m. last Thursday.

GardaĆ reported that he purchased phone credit at Centra in Kenmare at 9:48 a.m. that morning.

To aid the missing persons investigation, GardaĆ have now circulated a CCTV image of Mr. Gaine from that time, reports RTE.

Yesterday, more than 200 volunteers participated in the search for the missing sheep farmer in the Kenmare area.

Although GardaĆ expressed gratitude for public assistance in recent days, they stated that no additional volunteers are needed for land searches today or until further notice, reports RTE.

Mr. Gaine is described as being approximately 1.77m (5’10”) tall with a stocky build, brown/grey hair, and a bushy beard.

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing an orange woolly hat, a black fleece, blue jeans, and black boots.

GardaĆ and Mr. Gaine’s family remain deeply worried about his welfare, reports RTE.

Speaking on RTƉ’s *News at One*, local councillor Dan McCarthy said Mr. Gaine’s disappearance has left the community in shock.

“The entire area is in complete disbelief at the thought of him being missing. Over 200 people joined the search, which was coordinated from the mart in Kenmare on both Saturday and Sunday,” he said, reports RTE.

Mr. McCarthy noted that Mr. Gaine and his family are widely known in the community.

“I’d see him nearly every day. He was a neighbor and a good friend too. I run a small filling station in Kenmare, and he’d stop by almost every morning, six days out of seven. The generosity from local businesses, providing food for search volunteers, and the number of people who turned up to help was incredible. It just shows the high regard in which the family is held—they’re one of the oldest families in the area,” he added, reports RTE.

Mr. McCarthy urged anyone with information about Mr. Gaine’s disappearance to reach out to GardaĆ.

“They can contact the local Garda station in Kenmare or Killarney, and they’ll take it from there,” he said, reports RTE.
