Gardai will be out in their numbers over the next few weeks, as part of a Christmas safety campaign aimed at reducing road deaths and drink-driving incidents.
Watch out for checkpoints and random breathalyzing tests over the Christmas, and also make sure you keep your belongings safe inside your car.
Don’t leave any valuables or presents in full view, as thieves will also be out in force looking for an opportunity to strike.
