Gardai have confirmed that the bodies of a woman in her 40s and a baby boy have been found in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
The discovery was made at a property in the Beechfield estate in Clonee, Dublin 15, shortly after 3pm.
No reason for the discovery has been made public at this stage with Gardai saying that they’ll give an update on the situation in due course.
They say that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the discovery and that there was no one else in the house at the time.
They’re calling the discovery a “family tragedy”, saying that the woman was the baby boy’s mother.
