Gardai reveal there were four people involved in yesterday’s Regency Hotel shootings

Gardaí in Dublin have revealed that there were at least four people involved in yesterday afternoon’s shooting at the Regency Hotel in Drumcondra.

Reports now say that two of the attackers were dressed in SWAT Team style uniforms, and were wearing metal helmets. Gardai say the two men were armed with automatic weapons believed to be AK47’s.

Meanwhile two other attackers were carrying hand guns, with one man disguised as a woman and wearing an auburn wig whilst the other was stocky and wearing a beige cap.

The terrifying attack saw three men injured at the scene, with one man aged in his 30s tragically dying as a result of his gunshot wounds. It is believed that the two other men injured in the attack are currently being treated at The Mater and Beaumont hospitals although there condition is not believed to be life threatening.

The lead officer on the case Chief Superintendent said: “We know that there were a considerable number of people present in the Regency Hotel and we are appealing to them to provide any information they may have in relation to the shooting.

“We are also appealing to anyone who was in the area of the Regency Hotel between 2-2.45pm, or anyone who was in the Charlemont Estate at that time is asked to contact Ballymun Garda Station on 01 666 4400 or the Garda Confidential line 1800 666 111”
