Gardai say that they’re now extremely concerned that sensitive and private HSE patient data could end up being posted on the dark web from today.
It follows on from the cyber attack that took place two weeks ago on the HSE and the Department of Health.
A decryption key was sent to the HSE from the cyber hackers and is said to be working in restoring the data. The government say that they didn’t pay any ransom money but that confidential HSE will be posted on the dark web for sale.
It’s understood that criminal elements would carve it up and sell to other criminals around the world.
