Gardaí said they would be actively targeting organised and mobile crime gangs and repeat offenders involved in robberies as part of the winter phase of Operation Thor.
Gardai say that the crime prevention methods are based on intelligence and public information and the latest theft trends.
Gardaí said that while the number of robberies has dropped significantly compared to pre-Covid three years ago, there has been an increase of up to 20% during the winter.
It comes as three thugs have been arrested and a large quantity of property seized following a search operation in County Laois in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Gardai have advised people to ensure that their property is well secured and locked up correctly and to be vigilant.
