Gardai say that they fully stand over their actions that they took in Dublin over the past number of nights to combat anti-social behaviour.
Dublin awoke on Sunday morning to an expensive hangover with a major clean up operation required in some parts of the city centre following disturbances which saw baton charges by Gardai and at least 19 arrests on Saturday night.
Gardai arrested 19 people with 6 receiving an adult caution and two juveniles being arrested and later released and referred for Juvenile Diversion Programme with one Garda vehicle being damaged in Temple Bar and bottles thrown at officers on South William St.
Ireland is just beginning to open up from one of the world’s longest and strictest lockdowns and as good weather lingers over the country, the June bank holiday was sure to bring revellers to the streets.
Unfortunately the government delayed pubs and other venues from opening until today.
Gardai say that they’ll do whatever it takes to stop the thugs from taking over the city.
