Gardai say that they saw a large level of compliance with lockdown guidelines over the May bank holiday weekend.
They say that they stopped some 13,324 cars across the country over a 5 day period.
Gardai have announced that they had to turn back only 21 cars out of all 13,324 vehicles.
The force did say however that they arrested or took details of 139 people. It’s also understood that there was some 52 cases of spitting or coughing at gardai.
