Gardai say they’ll be out in force this weekend after they got the blame for St Stephen’s Green brawl that saw teenager stabbed and rushed to hospital

Gardai say that they’ll be out in force walking the streets of Dublin this weekend after they got the blame for not being around or dispersing a large crowd of young people who fist fought at the entrance to St Stephen’s Green on Saturday evening.

Gardai got the blame for allowing a major brawl to ensue in the heart of Dublin’s City Centre. They say that things will be different this weekend as they’ll be patrolling the streets on foot looking for thugs who are out looking to cause mayhem once more.

A brawl broke out at St Stephen’s Green entrance and saw over 30 people punching, kicking and even getting stabbed.

The fight took place near the entrance to St Stephen’s Green with gardai nowhere to be seen.

One teenager was rushed to hospital after being stabbed on the fracas. It’s understood that was treated in St James’s Hospital for non life threatening injuries and has since been released from hospital.

Gardai say no arrests have been made at this time but social media users are saying that gardai should have been more present in the area at that time and that they knew young people were congregating and getting ready for a row.
