Gardai say they’ll have widespread checkpoints across the country to stop the spread of Covid-19

Gardai say that they’ll be out in force this Easter bank holiday weekend to ensure that only people going to supermarkets, pharmacies, essential work and 2km exercise are leaving their house.

GardaĂ across the country are to set up a number of checkpoints in order to halt the spread of the Coronavirus.

The checkpoints will aim to stop people from unnecessary travel this bank holiday weekend.

It is understood that the Government has become concerned with the number of people planning to travel to holiday homes over the weekend.

The public are being advised not to travel more than 2km from their home and only to do so for necessary supplies such as groceries and medical supplies.
