€40,000 worth of cocaine and cannabis were seized yesterday evening after Gardai stopped and searched a car in Portlaoise.
Two men in their mid 20s were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Portlaoise Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 – Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Separately, Gardai seized €50,000 worth of heroine in Limerick yesterday. The drugs were found after Gardai searched a house in the St. Mary’s Park area of the city. Two males in their 40s were arrested and are being held at Henry St. Garda station.
