Gardai seized over €100,000 after stopping a truck driving along the M50 motorway in Dublin on Saturday evening.
Gardai believe that the cash is the proceeds of crime.
A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene, then released without charge.
A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
