Gardai in Co Limerick have confirmed that they shutdown 35 house parties and arrested 5 people over the past week.
The figures were released during a policing committee meeting on Friday.
It is understood that the 35 parties were held in and around the Castletroy area as part of University Limerick’s freshers week.
Gardai say five people were arrested on public order/trespass offences and a total of 70 on the spot fines were issued.
