Gardai have confirmed that they are to increase checkpoints from today onwards in order to support Covid-19 restrictions.
In an Gardai confirmed that Operation Fanacht will see increased checkpoints from 7am on Thursday morning.
They also say foot patrols will be increased in order to make sure the public are adhering to Covid-19 restrictions.
Gardai say increased operations are being implemented in the interests of public safety.
