Gardai to patrol Cork city bus routes as gang violence and knife crime continue to rise

The Gardaí have been forced to start patrolling Cork city buses that are identified as travelling on “trouble routes” after a series of knife crimes and other violent and anti-social incidents.

In recent months Cork has seen a number of stabbing incidents involving youths, including one in Carrigaline which was captured on video and left the country shocked by its animalistic and callous viciousness after it showed a helpless and badly beaten boy being repeatedly slashed and stabbed.

So far one youth, has been charged in relation to that incident which was covered extensively by the Liberal.ie.

Gang related violence appears to be on the rise across the country with videos of mass brawls surfacing from all over Ireland recently and a citizen in Dublin even being forced to launch a petition to force government action on the anti-social behaviour.
