Phone companies have been asked to do more to stop the amount of scam phone calls that are currently doing the rounds in Ireland. Along with that, the regulator is asked to step in and do something to prevent the nuisance calls from continuing.
Gardai are this evening warning of a new phone scam doing the rounds across Ireland at the moment.
This latest scam involves a number linked to the Dublin Circuit Court Family Law office.
People are reporting receiving calls from number 01-8886806 and being asked for personal information.
Gardai are advising to hang up and block the number and to inform elderly family and friends about the number.
