Gardai have issued a warning about pickpocket gangs stalking Christmas shoppers during the festive season. There will be a markedly increase Garda presence around the country in an attempt to curtail the nefarious efforts of these people who are out to spoil someone’s shopping experience or night out.
It is understood that immigration officials have also notified Gardai of the arrival of certain gang members in Ireland. These individuals have connections to families here.
Gardai are advising shoppers and revellers to be vigilant at all times, particularly around ATMs and queues.
It is also recommended not to leave goods unattended inside vehicles, specially if they are in full view.
