Gardai have issued a warning to the public over a SMS phishing scam that asks Bank of Ireland customers to return their Bank Card.
It is understood the scam text asks customers to following a link claiming to be the Bank of Ireland website and order a new card after their card was skimmed.
The text also asks the recipient to send their current card and their PIN back via post.
Gardai say they have been notified about the scam on a number of occasions.
Meanwhile Bank of Ireland say they would never contact a customer asking for their personal details and urged the public to delete the text immediately.
