Gardai in Dundalk claim they have yet to find an “established” connection to terrorism – yet are ruling nothing out as an international investigation gets underway.
An 18-yr-old migrant named Mohammad from Egypt is detained at present in Dundalk garda station where he is being questioned over his involvement in the murder on an innocent Japanese man yesterday and assaulting two other men.
It’s understood the migrant was refused entry into the UK and was seeking residency in Ireland.
Although the killing was random and unprovoked, and the fact these attacks have all the hallmarks of an Islamic terrorist attack, gardai claim they can’t find a direct connection at present.
Sources told The Liberal, the suspect was practically uncontrollable in custody at various times yesterday.
Whether it’s officially named terrorism or not, a young innocent man is dead today as a result of the terror inflicted on him.
