German arms manufacturer holds talks to set up a tank production facility in Ukraine to ensure Russians can never set foot on Ukrainian soil again

A German arms manufacturer is reportedly holding talks with Ukrainian authorities to set up a tank production facility in the country, with the goal of ensuring that Russians can never set foot on Ukrainian soil again.

A Rheinmetall factory would take no more than 200m euro to build and could produce up to 400 tanks a year. The factory would be well protected by a state-of-the-art air defence system to deter any aerial incursion.

The decision on whether or not the factory will be built will be taken within a couple of months.

Ukraine needs between 600-800 tanks right now to create several armored battalions to drive Russians out of the land. The first Leopard 2 main battle tanks arrived in Kyiv in recent days.
