A German teenager has discovered a solid bar of gold last week in the bottom of a lake while swimming in Bavaria.
The girl, 16, who was on holiday in the German Alps at the time, was told by police that she may get to keep the 500g bar, which is believed to be worth €16,000.
Authorities are investigating it’s origin.
A spokesperson said: “If the gold does not have an owner or is not related to a crime then the girl will get to keep it”.
