Germany’s largest weapon manufacturer has confirmed the opening of a new factory in Ukraine within the next few weeks.
Rheinmetall AG’s facility will produce and repair German Fuchs armored personnel carriers for Ukraine’s army, and will also repair battlefield-damaged heavy tanks.
The project is a joint venture with Ukroboronprom, a Ukrainian state-owned defense group.
The new factory will create hundreds of local jobs and ensure that Ukraine receives a constant supply of ammunition to defend itself against any aggressor.
