Up to 2,000 students across Ireland will receive aid in the form of bursaries worth up to €5,000 annually as part of an plan to widen access to third-level education, it’s been announced.
Richard Bruton made the announcement today as part of a scheme that is aimed at specifically tackling the problem of giving disadvantaged students the chance to garner a full third-level education.
The move will be welcomed to many who feel that they simply cannot afford to attend third-level education for a number of reasons, mostly the financial burden that it entails.
It will also target lone parents and ethnic minorities with more than 2,000 students to be supported in total over the next three years.
