Get the sunglasses out – Beautiful sunshine is on the way, says Met Éireann

According to a Met Éireann forecast, Ireland may anticipate a period of bright weather until next week, reports RTE.

Michelle Dillon stated on RTÉ’s Today with Claire Byrne that a large region of high pressure above Scandinavia is to blame for the favourable weather.

“It’s called an Omega block, in the jet stream, those winds high up in the atmosphere,” she said, reports RTE.

“And when it gets into this pattern, it really is very hard to shift it, and that’s why we have this prolonged, settled spell of weather that is going to continue through next week and possibly even longer, with just little interruptions at times,” reports RTE.

According to Ms. Dillon, there will be some showery weather tomorrow evening and Friday early, but the sun will return later on Friday and stay out all weekend.

Although it could be a little colder at night, she predicted that temperatures will start to climb the next week, reports RTE.

She went on to say that when the heart of the region of high pressure approaches us, easterly breezes will decrease and temperatures may rise into the upper teens.

According to the prediction, there will be lots of sunlight across today, with highs of 12 to 18 degrees, reports RTE.
