Police in the UK have confirmed that a 14-year-old girl has sadly passed after getting into difficulties whilst swimming in the sea off the coast of Essex, on Thursday.
According to reports in the UK, the teenager got into difficulties whilst swimming with family members near a pier in Clacton.
Police investigating the incident say two teenagers aged 15 and 18 have been taken to hospital following the incident.
It is believed that the 18-year-old man is in critical but stable condition in hospital, whilst the 15-year-old girl is expected to make a full recovery.
Officers investigating the case say the 14-year-old girl sadly passed away in hospital after she and her fellow teenagers got into difficulties at approximately 2pm.
