Glimmer of hope for summer weather yet, as temperatures are set to rise next week

It’s mid-June already and the weather is still as miserable as ever, but there’ s fresh hopes that some summer-like (for Irish standards) weather may be on the cards.

Met Eireann has said that temperatures will rise significantly next week, reaching 20-21C at times.

The week will begin rather wet though, with widespread rain, heavy at times on Monday.

Things will start improving somewhat on Tuesday, with less in the way of rain and temperatures rising to about 19C.

Wednesday looks set to be a bright day with just a few scattered showers and mild weather.
