Going nowhere: Stephen Kenny remains hopeful of staying on after big 4-0 win against Gibraltar on Monday night

He’s hanging on by the tips of his fingernails at this stage, but Ireland’s manager Stephen Kenny is  finally celebrating a 4-0 win against Gibraltar.

Many people have been calling for Kenny’s departure after the atrocious show the Irish team has completed in their qualifying campaign.

It’s been a very tough tenure for the softly spoken man, but many believe no one else will make a difference as the talent remains far behind the glory days of World Cup 1990.

Kenny says that although he’s realistic about November possibly being the end of his tenure, he remains very hopeful that he will remain Ireland’s manager for many years to come.
