Former government member, and self-confessed witch, Katherine Zappone, who ironically spearheaded the Irish political establishment’s drive to legalise abortion on demand while Minister for Children organised the wining and dining for her former colleagues just a week before her controversial appointment as special envoy to the UN for Freedom of Speech.
Zappone has since turned down the position after near universal outcries of cronyism.
However, there is major fallout from what some in the media have dubbed Golfgate 2.0, in reference a gathering of the Oireachtas Golf Society in Clifden, County Galway last August in breach of Covid restrictions which led to an investigation as well as the resignation of then EU Commissioner Phil Hogan.
There are now calls for an investigation into the event and the resignations of Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and newly elected Labour TD for Dublin Bay South Ivana Bacik, however, these concerns and accusations of blatant hypocrisy have been arrogantly dismissed in the typical fashion.
