Good news for Electric Ireland customers as company reveal that they will save on average €184 per year

There was some god news announced for Electric Ireland customers after the company revealed that they are to slash prices by up to 8.5%.

The latest announcement comes after they recently revealed they plan to cut electricity prices by 6%. The company claim that the average electric Ireland customer will save around €184 per year.

There will be further reductions for Householders who currently receive their gas and electricity from the company, with the average customer expected to save €280 per year. Electric Ireland say the new offer is available to customers who pay by Direct Debit and who also have online billing.

The company also claim the new savings is not a one off as they hope they will be applied year after year. It is understood existing customers do not have to sign up for a contract and there won’t be an expiry date or exit fee.

The news of the price cuts was welcomed by Paul Stapleton, General Manager at Electric Ireland, who said: “Following our 6% price reduction announcement last month, this is more great news for Electric Ireland customers.” “We want our customers to get the best value without having to shop around.”

“Rather than focus on new customers with short term discounts which has been a feature of the market to date. “We want to reward our loyal customers and make sure all our customers can benefit from the best long-term value available from the market.”
