Northern Trust, the Global Financial institution is set to creat some 400 new jobs in an expansion to its Limerick offices.
The expansion is said to be supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland.
The new jobs are said to be a vital boost to the mid-west where the so-called recovery has been slow to reach.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary Mitchell O’Connor said that the government have been working to make Ireland a more attractive location for the likes of such investments.
Northern Trust is said to already have over 1,000 employees at two sites in Limerick.
