Residents of McGrath, Alaska, more than 200 miles south of the checkpoint Leon escaped from, finally reported their findings to the dog last month and tried to catch him skipping his food.
He was finally arrested on Saturday morning, the Iditarod Trails Committee said, and his French shell Sébastien Dos Santos Borges (his sled driver) will pick him up and bring him back to France.
