Gormanstown Barracks expected to open its doors today to 300 Ukrainians

Gormanstown Barracks in County Meath is expected to open its doors today to house some 300 Ukrainians who’ve arrived in Ireland since March.

It’s not yet known how long these people will be housed in the location, but it’s expected that even more Ukrainians could be housed in the County Meath military base in the near future.

A total of 40,000 Ukrainians have already arrived in Ireland with a further 4,000 expected to arrive in the country by the end of the month.

Meanwhile rents are going through the roof and 10,000 Irish people remain homeless.
