GoSafe staff to go on strike over pay and working conditions

Staff at GoSafe have confirmed that they are to undertake a 24 hour stoppage following a dispute over pay and conditions.

It is understood that some 35 staff members who work at the company will undertake the stoppage on September 28th after a dispute has arisen over pay and working conditions.

Union representatives of GoSafe staff say they have been left with no option but to undertake strike action as management have failed to address health and safety concerns raised by staff.

Staff working at the company say they are working in unrealistic conditions which include lengthy shifts and the lack of toilet facilities.

They also claim that they are being confined to speed vans for extended periods of time as equipment must be monitored at all times and they may be required to give evidence if a motorist is caught speeding.

Union representatives claim that staff have been forced to urinate into bottles and eat their lunch in cramped conditions due to the lack of resources.

Although there union representatives have only scheduled one day of strike action, they have confirmed that further stoppages will take place if management fails to recognise and address staff concerns.
