
The numbers of cases per day seem to just be increasing, however the government say that this is a result of increased testing in care homes.
The government say that there will continue to be large numbers of confirmed daily cases because of testing in care homes but that there’s promising news that ICU and reproduction rates are decreasing.
On Thursday evening, the Department of Health have confirmed that a total of 28 people have died and 936 more cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the Republic of Ireland.
In an announcement made this evening the Department confirmed that there are currently 17,607 confirmed cases in the Republic of Ireland and a total 794 deaths.
Community transmission stands at around 60%.
