
According to the minister of children, the government would take “immediate action” on the main suggestions of a Tusla study into the disappearance of schoolboy Kyran Durnin, reports Breaking News.
The “detailed” report from the child and family agency regarding its interaction with Kyran and his family will be sent to Roderic O’Gorman on Friday.
In October, the Gardai opened a murder inquiry into the disappearance of the youngster from Co Louth, who may have been gone for two years without anybody knowing, reports Breaking News.
According to Gardai, Kyran may have passed away in 2022 at the age of six.
According to Tusla, last week it informed police of a “significant” worry over the August missing youngster.
Investigators searched a former Dundalk family home and surrounding property last week, reports Breaking News.
In his 40-year career, the Garda Commissioner has called the case “extraordinary” and says he has never seen one like it.
On Friday, Garda Commissioner Drew Harris stated that he receives daily updates about the probe.
Following many pleas, he claimed that the Gardai had gathered “a huge amount of information from the public.”
“I can assure you that that investigation is very active, we’re pursing all the lines of inquiry that we have. We have received a huge amount of information from the public, so all of that has to be processed, and we’re also engaging with Tusla and received a lot of information from Tusla as well,” he said, speaking in Co Laois, reports Breaking News.
“All of that feeds into the inquiry. It is a very complex and properly resourced investigation and is being assisted by national bureaux in terms of expertise around interviewing and the assessment of the witness accounts we’ve received so far,” he added, reports Breaking News.
